Saif quits Vishal’s film
The grapevine now has it that the actor demanded some changes in Bhardwaj's script, which did not go down well with the director. On knowing this, Saif recently walked out of the film.
Earlier, when Shahid turned down the role, he told Vishal that he would prefer it if they worked together on Kaminey 2 instead. A source says, "During that time, Shahid also got a good offer to host a TV dance reality show, Dancing With Superstar .
However, he did not accept that either." Dreams is a story, which is narrated in a dream.
Added the source, "Though the plot resembles a bit with the recent Hollywood blockbuster Inception, Bhardwaj was ready with the script of Dreams much before Inception released." When Saif asked for changes, Bhardwaj put his foot down.
Adds the source, "Bhardwaj is a director who sticks to his script and vision. Often, many actors are apprehensive and nervous before signing up for a character in Bhardwaj's films.
Both Saif and Shahid took a long time to say 'yes' to Bhardwaj for Omkara as well as Kaminey. This time too, the role is very challenging but fruitful.
" All said and done, Saif's exit from Dreams is rather shocking, especially because both he and Bhardwaj were reportedly again warming up with one another. Says the source, "Saif was miffed with Bhardwaj for casting Shahid, who happens to be Kareena Kapoor's ex-boyfriend, for Kaminey.
Moreover, after Saif's Langda Tyaagi character was lauded in Omkara, the actor was hoping Bhardwaj would cast him in his next." When asked if he is indeed not doing Vishal's film for Ekta Kapoor, Saif said, "Yes I am not doing the film as of now.
" When asked if it was the script of the film that put him off, the actor chose not to reply. Bhardwaj remained unavailable for comment.
As of now, Dreams stars Deepika Padukone. Another heroine will soon be finalised.
Whether Bhardwaj will offer the hero's role to Shahid again or not, is the million-dollar question
(less)Milind Soman first to lose 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 3'
However, he willingly backed out when he had to go underwater in Rio de Janeiro's Teresopolis Farm to unlock weights hung under a sheet of fire. Even though the stunt may not have been too tough, it was the chilling six degrees temperature of water that held Milind back - and caused his elimination.
"I should have tried more especially because it was a swimming stunt. I could have done it easily," he lamented after he lost.
Apart from Milind, funnyman Cyrus Broacha and former supermodel and actor Rahul Dev too had underperformed. However, they gave up much later than Milind, who withdrew from the stunt within less than three minutes.
The third season of Fear Factor -Khatron Ke Khiladi went on air on Monday with Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra as the new host. The 28-year-old actress sports a grungy look in the show, and seems to be trying a bit too hard to throw attitude to match up to action hero Akshay Kumar, who had hosted the past two seasons of the deadly show.
But her softness came through the tension for the safety of the 13 contestants on the show. But if sources are to be believed, she is supposed to be quite a whip-wielding dictator in Rio de Janeiro where all the stunts are being shot.
The ongoing season was earlier supposed to have cricketers as contestants but now it boasts of hot male celebrities like Dino Morea, Rahul Bose, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Karan Singh Grover, filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, car racer Armaan Ebrahem and squash champion Ritwik Bhattacharya, apart from actor Manjot Singh, Cyrus and Rahul Dev. Each male celebrity is teamed up with one non celebrity female contestant

The show, which will premieres on HBO in September, will mark a long-awaited return to the small-screen for the renowned director. According to reports, the producers have spared no costs to get the details right.
For the show, a 300ft boardwalk was created in an empty car park in Brooklyn, New York, complete with bars, restaurants and a salt taffy shop. But spending such a huge amount of money making the series has already paid off for HBO, as it has already become their best-selling series internationally and the rights have been licensed to 160 countries

"I first started discussing the third Hera Pheri movie with Akshay in 2006. I never wanted to make it without him.
It's sad that we couldn't come to an agreement. Akshay is like a brother.
But I can't afford him.I hope we work together again very soon.

The 44-year-old gave up sooner than anyone on the show when asked to do an underwater stunt in Rio de Janeiro's Teresopolis Farm. A national level swimmer, many were touting him as the likely winner.
After performing poorly, Milind claimed that it was the chilling six degree temperature underwater that caused his early elimination and expressed his lament at the loss. But the actor has a reason to smile now, as he will be back soon on the show to face danger with an improved attitude
(less)Era of villains is over, says Ashutosh Rana
"Cinema is a reflection of society, and as society changes so does our creativity. Earlier there would be a good guy and a bad guy.
Our villain would be a dacoit, a lender, and our hero would be a police officer, a teacher. "Then things changed, rich people and smugglers became villains and police and other people became heroes," Rana said in an interview.
Larger-than-life images of yesteryears' villains who went on rampaging the life of a hero, raping his sister and molesting his girlfriend were a regular feature of almost all the films. But times have changed and the 45-year-old actor says that the bad guy in movies these days has shades of grey and even the hero has ceased to be all-good.
"Now a common man is a hero, he is half good and half bad. And the villain now is also not an out-and-out bad guy.
He is a hero for his friends and villain for his enemy; the portrayal is very subjective," he said. Rana further said that over the years the concept of a hero has also changed, who is no longer simply a honest good man.
"The concept of hero has changed. If you ask me where is that villain, I ask you where is that hero," he said.
Even as Rana argues that the bad guys are not all that bad in films, he is all set to play a evil villain on the small screen this time. The actor, who started his career with Swabhimaan , will be playing Keshav Thakral, a powerful businessman who makes the life of an upcoming badminton player hellish in newly launched show Kali - Ek Agnipariksha on Star Plus.
"Power of money, knowledge, family and muscle power is all that a man can have, and if a person has all of them he stops competing with others and thinks his competition is with the God. This the character of (Keshav) Thakral.
This character is the king of evil," said Rana. The actor will also be seen brandishing a moustache in the serial.
The show apparently draws inspiration from the Ruchika Malhotra case, which the producers of the serial, however, denied

(less)Deepika keeps a promise to herself in Cannes
I get enough opportunities at home to wear western clothes. When I'm seen at an international event I'd rather be fully Indian.
? When told that Aishwarya wore a gown Deepika says, ?I wouldn't like to comment on others. Speaking for myself I find the saree very Indian and yet very sensuous.
I wore an off ?white Rohit Bal creation on the red carpet. It felt good to be so Indian so far away from from home.
? However the matter is not as emotional as Deepika makes it seem. There was a practical reason why she opted to be seen in a Saree at Cannes.
Apparently Deepika, a first-timer at the Festival had made discreet inquiries about what the ?Cannes regular? Aishwarya would be wearing before deciding on her own look. Spectators feasted their eyes on the two lovely Indian ladies who proved that variety was indeed the spice and curry of life.
If Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the red carpet in May 12 at Cannes dazzled in a gown, Deepika Padukone chose to go desi glam in a shimmering saree. Deepika's first visit to Cannes doesn't seem to have filled her with too much excitement.
She says she hardly met anyone at the Festival except racing superstar Michael Schumacher and just caught one film, a French one Matthew Almaric's Tournee which she enjoyed. That apart Deepika 's two-day whirlwind tour to the Cannes Film Festival included some serious sight-seeing.
On Day 2 of her trip she took off on her own to take in the sights and sounds of the scenic seaside town

I'm extremely ambitious and I will not stop for anything or anybody. I am a go-getter and I am very rarely satisfied with what I do, " Deepika told.
The 24-year-old, who was at the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studio in the capital to promote her film "Lafangey Parindey", says she may have achieved a lot of success in no time, but it motivates her to continue doing good work.
"It is still the beginning for me. I have just done around seven films.
So there is a lot more that I want to do, a lot more films, work with a lot of directors, give a lot of hit films and get hit songs to my credit which I can perform to later. I know I have come a long way from where I started, but still I have a lot to achieve, " she said.
Deepika, the daughter of legendary badminton ace Prakash Padukone, stepped into showbiz as a model and started her movie career with Kannada movie "Aishwarya" in 2006, after which she made a dream debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's "Om Shanti Om". (less)Designer Mandira Wirk makes movie debut
"I have been styling for a long time now and have worked with almost everyone in the industry, so it was just a gradual shift. I have been associated with Minissha for quite some time now and she wanted me to design her clothes for the movie," Mandira told IANS in an interview.
"After working with these stars for a long time, we now share good rapport with each other. There is a certain comfort level you share with the stars and it comes out very well when you start working together," she added.
Delhi-based Mandira, who has been in the fashion industry for almost a decade now, is a known name in India as well as Europe and South-east Asia. Talking about Minissha's look in Hum Tum Aur Shabana , Mandira said: "The look of the character is very girlie and feminine.
I have used a lot of pastel colours, cotton, linen and chiffon. I have also played a lot with neckline and sleeves.
"Minissha doesn't want the length of her dresses to be above-knee, so the hemlines of the dresses are kept till the knees. So the whole look will be natural yet classy," she added.
As Mandira has worked with Minissha earlier, she already knew her likes, dislikes and her body proportion. "The best part is that Minissha has given me free hand in designing.
She is very down to earth and doesn't mind experimenting. She believes in me and my designs," said Mandira who has used a lot of texturing, hand and spiral painting as well.
As the movie is being shot in Mumbai and Goa, the designer had to keep the locations in mind while designing. "We have finished our first phase of shooting in Goa and there Minissha was required to go in the water, so I had to design clothes for that particular scene that won't get crumpled after she comes out of the water.
So you see, all these little things have to be kept in mind while you take a film project," said Mandira. Directed by the Bheja Fry -fame director Sagar Ballary, the movie also has Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade in the lead roles

(less)Don’t expect me to romance a teenager: Manoj
“When you have hits in your resume, it increases your career time. Rajneeti has given me a fresh lease of life.
That’s the reality of our commercial set-up — you need to be among the hits or else you are a miss,” confesses the actor. His lucky streak with films continued when the Telugu flick Vedham received critical acclaim.
“Whenever anyone is making path-breaking cinema and trying to take the cinematic moment forward, I want to be in it. Krish moved away from the norm to make Vedham and I’m extremely proud of the film,” he says dismissing reports of not-so-favourable BO collections despite the acclaim.
However, Manoj’s next is a total potboiler. “All characters in my next film are either black or white.
It’s a complete commercial potboiler and I didn’t mind doing it because Suriya is a dear friend. Plus the movie also boasts of names like AR Rahman and Pawan Kalyan who is a big star in the state.
Even though I play a negative character, it’s great to do something like this once a while.” But Manoj’s brush with realistic cinema continues as he is all set to play a part in Prakash Jha’s next, Aarakshan, based on the reservation drama.
Gritty dramas are just what he thrives on. “There aren’t many film makers who make movies in this genre.
Real and gritty stories today are widely accepted thanks to the increase in numbers of the multiplex audience. They understand and appreciate such cinema.
Filmmakers dream of telling such stories and today the audience has made that possible. As for actors like me, I rather be seen in such cinema or don’t do anything at all,” he affirms.
His recent patch up with director Anurag Kashyap occupied media space and has paid off as both of them are teaming together for the film, Gangs of Wasseypur. Buzz suggests that the film is the director’s tribute to The Godfather.
“It’s all rubbish. The film is nothing like that.
People have also said that ‘Oh he plays a gangster again’. But the fact is being a gangster is what one does as a profession, but the person inside is different.
And as an actor I know that I cannot repeat myself.” Inspite of being in the film industry for a long time, Manoj has no hang ups or favourites as far as working with directors is concerned.
And the younger lot sure gets a thumbs-up. “People like Anurag Basu, Dibakar Banerjee, Vikramaditya Motwane and others are the future of the industry.
They are aggressive and have changed the way a film is narrated on screen. They have made hatke cinema mainstream.
” And Manoj sure gets a kick from working with young blood. “I don’t want to be known as a fuddy-duddy who has hang-ups.
Give me real stories and roles and I’m game. But don’t expect me to romance a 19-year-old,” he laughs.
But the year for the actor is not complete without the release of two other films — Dus Tola and Chittagong Uprising. The latter —in which he plays Suryia Sen —has been in news as director Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Khelen Jee Jaan Se with Abhishek and Deepika follows the same premise.
Isn’t he afraid his movie might get a raw deal? “Not at all. The narrative in both films is different.
In fact, I’m glad that two movies are being made on the subject as more people will get to know of Surya Sen.”

In Prakash Jha's Raajneeti a lot has been said about Katrina Kaif's character of a widow who takes a plunge into politics and that it was inspired from UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. But, its director said there was nothing in common between the two, except they both looked beautiful in a saree.
Jha has planned rallies across seven cities where the cast and crew will travel to colleges for a discussion on current issues and subjects with relevance to the youth. "We would ask the students why aren't the educated youth coming forth to actively participate in politics? Why isn't it considered a career choice," he said.

A school teacher by profession, Surya Sen was an inspiration to his students, so much so that the moniker 'masterda' is attached to him to this day," he said. "He instilled an uncompromising desire for freedom and antipathy to British rule among all those he recruited.
His own commitment to the revolution was absolute. He sacrificed his life, chose not to love or have a family so he could dedicate himself to the revolution," Gowariker added.

Deepika Padukone, who has till date donned western attires for her movies, is now going to sport the look of a simple Indian girl for Ashutosh Gowarikar's next Khelein Hum Jee Jan Se. Neeta Lulla has designed the wardrobe for this pre-Independence flick.
Lulla, who has designed simple cotton saris for Deepika, feels that Deepika can carry it off very well. She opines that Deepika doesn't need make-up or urban clothes to look good.
Same can be said about Katrina Kaif. The actress, who is seen draped in sari with little make-up for her upcoming movie Rajneeti, is looking stunning as ever.
As per director Rahul Dholakia, all the leading ladies of B-town are shedding their glam avatars and experimenting with their looks as they are no longer insecure. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen in Raavan in plain kurta-churidar, while Bipasha Basu will pose as an unadorned Kashmiri Muslim girl for Lamhaa.
These Bollywood girls have always been looked up to for their impeccable sense of style and have been fashion icons for most of the Indian youths.
(less)No big deal about swim suits: Deepika
"When you are shooting on a beach in Italy, you have to look sexy. However, the highlight of the film is not the bikini here.
I remember people making a big deal about Priyanka (Chopra) wearing a swimsuit in 'Dostana' but we know that the film was a lot more than that," Deepika told PTI. The actress, who has paired up once again with Akshay a year after the Chandni Chowk To China debacle, has no qualms about wearing a bikini, if the script demands so.
"All the advertising is fine as long as everyone related to the film is aware about the real intent. On the same lines in Housefull too, we girls appear in bikinis for a while but the film moves on.
The focus is not skin show. But then when some people think so, it takes away the credibility of the director," said Padukone.
The actress is looking her best in the multi-starrer comedy and says that she had to play close attention to her styling for the film. "It was the requirement of the film to concentrate a little harder on the styling and look departments.
This is one film where I could wear bright colours, look glamorous and don fancy hairstyles. Moreover, there is also an overall change in my look that comes in when you compare the first half of the film with the second half," said Deepika.
Elaborating on the difference, she reveals, "In the first half, since I am in Italy, the look is all beachy and colourful. On the other hand in the second half when the film shifts to London, I am far more girly and feminine.
You would see a lot of subtle colours and pastel shades." Housefull is also perhaps one of the first films where three leading ladies have got into a bikini and that too for a single shot.
Did that lead to some serious competition between her, Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan? "We all knew beforehand that we had to get together in a swim wear at some point in the film. The three of us would go to gym and share notes around our diet.
In fact I remember getting salad for the other girls as well. Similarly, Lara too got some stuff for me.
There was no negative energy whatsoever," said Deepika. The film which released today would mark the beginning of an eventful year for Deepika, with Break Ke Baad , Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se and Lafange Parinde also releasing in 2010
(less)B-Town ladies, ready to kick some ass
They’re now doing a lot of the fighting too. And it’s not just action movies.
Actresses, just like actors, are now boasting of having done their own stunts in films ranging from comedies to dramas. Leading the pack is Priyanka Chopra, who kicked some serious ass in Don opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
Later, she followed it up with her bodyguard act in the movie Drona, wherein she displayed some cool Sikh martial art moves from a form called Gatka. The leggy lass, who replaced Akshay Kumar as the host of the action-packed TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi, will soon be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2, where she is rumoured to be doing more action sequences.
Deepika Padukone is another actress who is a self-confessed action freak. The former badminton player did some daredevil stunts in Chandni Chowk To China.
The actress has also learnt scuba diving for her upcoming film Lafangey Parindey, in which she’s said to play the role of a tomboy. If the buzz is to be believed, Deepika will be seen wearing leather jackets, jumping high walls, doing somersaults and riding bikes as well in the movie.
In fact, the dimpled beauty has taken her love for action a step further by signing another action flick, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, where she will be seen doing some serious stunts – wearing a saree! Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made everyone’s jaws drop with her super skinny figure and a sun-kissed look in Dhoom 2. After doing a few small action sequences in that movie, Ash took to action again in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar, for which she apparently learnt sword fighting and managed to master it in a blinker.
In her Hollywood flick The Last Legion, where she played the role of a Byzantine warrior, she performed some daring action stunts. And most recently, in Raavan, she matched steps with hubby Abhishek by doing all her stunts herself.
Kareena Kapoor, who made headlines last year for her size-zero figure, is set to turn toughie with a full-on action role in Agent Vinod opposite beau Saif Ali Khan. Katrina Kaif will also be seen performing some cool stunts in her upcoming movie Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara, for which she will learn dirt biking.
Last year saw hot bod Lara Dutta turn action heroine for the thriller Blue and perform stunts 70 feet under water with sharks. Shruti Hassan also displayed her adventurous side last year in her first Hindi film, Luck, where she was seen doing everything from parachuting to escaping killer sharks underwater and being tied to a speeding engine.
Lights, camera and some more action, what say, girls?
(less)Ashutosh Gowariker connects with fans on Twitter, Facebook
The man behind films like Lagaan , Swades and Jodhaa Akbar , will be answering queries on the sites starting this Saturday, and will do so every subsequent Saturday. The aim will be that even non-resident Indian fans are involved in the effort, said a source close to Gowariker.
Gowariker chose to announce the initiative on India's 64th Independence Day Sunday. "Hi everyone, this is Ashutosh Gowariker wishing you a great 63rd year of Independence! What better moment to tell you more about Surya Sen - the man who planned the Chittagong uprising of 1930 - the greatest revolutionary uprising against the British empire in India's history," he posted on Twitter.
He went on to describe freedom fighter Surya Sen, whose role is being essayed by Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan in the movie. "As the leader of the Indian Republican Army, he commanded respect from other revolutionary compatriots and teenagers alike.
The 46-year-old says he has been following the response to all updates on the official Twitter page of the film - KHJJS . ".
..
I wish to keep you updated more often with all the developments on the film. Connect with you soon," he posted.
A similar message went out from him on the official page of the film on Facebook. Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey , releasing on Dec 3, will also feature actress Deepika Padukone as the revolutionary Kalpana Dutt

(less)Deepika talks about her look in Ashu's film
However, just as the makers of 'Housefull' and 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' come with different sensibilities, so is being reflected in the subject as well as character presentation. With Deepika bringing in a new facet of her 'revolutionary' persona for Ashutosh Gowariker's period film, a solo shot has managed to bring quite some limelight to 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' which is at least half a year away from release.
"I know. This still was released to give a glimpse of what is in the offing from the film", says Deepika from Mauritius where she is currently stationed for a rather long shoot of 'Break Ke Baad', "However, the reactions which have started coming in are overwhelming.
I wasn't aware that it would actually go on to make so much news. I am glad because this reiterates the fact that people have been curious to know about the look of the film and the characters.
" It appears that there is a lot that one would get to see of Deepika-in-a-saree this season. After all very recently, she did create a stir of sorts by walking the red carpert at Cannes in a saree.
"Well, both are different kind of sarees actually", she says, "In Cannes it was an event-wear while in Ashu's film, there are lot of cotton sarees that I am wearing. Since it is a period film, the presentation is totally different.
The film has a Bengali milieu to it and I had to make sure that I carry the look well." Starring Abhishek Bachchan in lead, 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey' is aiming for 3rd December release

Amrita shocked us when she said 'Shortkut' was an "A" film. How could 'Shortkut', an out an out comedy, be an adults' film? To which she laughed, "I don't know if it's occurred to you but all the pillars of 'Shortkut' have names beginning with the alphabet 'A'! The movie is due for a worldwide release on April 30 all over and the production team is already giving final touches to their preparations for its worldwide release. The audiences would just love to see the chemistry between the two on screen. ?Housefull? also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani and Chunky Pandey in important roles.

(less)Deepika Padukone HOUSEFULL is bindaas about bikini!!
In fact, the bindaas Bangalore babe is unfazed about her swimming costume and slams the critics by saying that on a beach she would be expected to wear bikini not a suit while filming for a romantic flick. In any case, Deepika Padukone had been a top notch model before coming into bollywood with Shah Rukh Khan?s ?Om Shanti Om?, and hence wearing bikinis should never have been a big thing for the stunning beauty.
Then, bikini show had also been necessitated due to presence of two other hot beauties ?Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan?in the film. As Lara and Jiah were supposedly doing the bikini shot, Deepika did not have much of the choice in the matter.
But the bikini shots had been aesthetically shot and never looked vulgar on the screen. Then, it can not be denied that bikini shots invariably prove to be hit with hoi polloi and this was no exception.
Akshay Kumar?s ?housefull? opened to almost full houses last Friday. The romantic comedy has come out beautifully on the screen.
The most remarkable thing about the whole project has been the crackling chemistry between Riteish Deshmukh and Akshay Kumar, which successfully tickled the funny bones of audiences. -- k k rai Send comments: 0comments
(less)Deepika in Ashutosh's period thriller!
c. joshi | kalpana dutta | deepika padukone | ashutosh gowariker | ajay bijli Actress Deepika Padukone plays the role of Kalpana Dutta in Ashutosh Gowariker's next Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey which is based on a true event.
The period thriller is based on the book Do and Die by Manini Chatterjee. Speaking about Kalpana Dutta, director Ashutosh Gowariker said, " Kalpana Dutta was just 17 when the Chittagong Uprising took place.
She was a voracious reader and was inspired by stories of the youngest revolutionaries. Along with her friend Pritilata Wadadar, she played different roles within the revolutionary movement, including that of a courier — transporting acid from Calcutta to Chittagong.
After her arrest, the court took into consideration her age and sex and she was given a lifer. After she got released in May 1939 she married P.
C. Joshi (General secretary of the Communist Party of India).
The author Manini Chatterji is her daughter-in-law. He further added, "Deepika has brought an energy and feistiness to the character of Kalpana Datta which is very endearing.
I am enamoured by her performance". Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is director Ashutosh Gowariker’s first epic period thriller and has been shot mostly in Goa along with portions in Mumbai.
Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is presented by AGPPL and PVR Pictures and is jointly produced by Ajay Bijli, Sanjeev Bijli and Sunita A. Gowariker.

(less)Snake haunts Gowarikar, again!
A source reveals, “A huge python wandered into the set, taking everybody in the unit by shock. It happened when Ashutosh was visualizing a very crucial scene on April 18 1930 and had the entire cast including some British troops.
The assistant directors and some of the crew members spotted a huge snake and immediately informed Ashutosh. Not wasting any minute, Ashu stalled the shoot as he did not want any panic nor any accident to take place as the whole area was around a jungle.
” The source continues, “After almost waiting for three hours and searching around the sets did Ashutosh resume the shoot. Ashutosh was very calm and handled the situation very calmly.
” Coincidentally a similar incident had occurred when Ashutosh was shooting for his period film Lagaan, where again they had British troops. When contacted producer Sunita Gowariker quips, “There is no connection, but since you are suggesting it is a lucky omen, all I can say is, hope it works this time too.

But I insist on doing what I want to. Neil does get tense," she said.
The actor has so impressed her that she cannot stop praising him. "Neil is such a well brought-up guy, absolutely impeccable in his manners.
Besides being a brilliant actor, he's also a great technician. I see him turning director soon.
My other co-star Imran Khan in 'Break Ke Baad' is great fun too. We shot in Delhi and bonded immediately," she said.
Speaking of Imran, there was talk of Deepika deliberately working with Ranbir Kapoor's immediate rival after their break up. When asked about it, she flared up.
"No one tells me what to do and what not to do. My personal life has nothing to do with my professional one.
Imran is a wonderful co-star. I like working with actors who are fun yet professional, like Akshay, Imran, Neil and Abhishek Bachchan.
" Deepika is very happy about her roles so far. "Housefull was a new experience.
I had to do comedy. Like Akshay Kumar, I chose to do a more subtle comedy in Housefull.
For me being funny doesn't mean screaming and rolling my eyes. Now I've three films that are about to be completed -- Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se', Pradeep Sarkar's 'Lafange Parindey' and Danish Aslam's 'Break Ke Baad'.

(less)Vidya Balan and I had no fight: Pradeep Sarkar
You may feel it is a maar dhad film because of the title but it is a film about hope and it is a love story. It is a gritty love story.
Does it mean that Lafangey Parindey is also a love story, like Parineeta? I love making love stories. Ghoom phirke I make love stories, obviously because I am a complete romantic.
Though I have become a buddha, mera dil to bachcha hai ji. In what way is Deepika Padukone going to be seen in a different avatar in your film? You have seen a glamorous Deepika until now.
You will see a different avatar of Deepika in my film, with very little make up..
. almost no make up.
When she started getting into the character of Pinky Palkar, I, in turn, started adapting my thinking from her. Pinky Palkar does not let anything come in her way, once she decides what she wants.
There was no reference point for Deepika Padukone. She did rehearsals by closing her eyes.
She shut herself. Deepika learnt to internalize blindness.
In what way is Neil Nitin Mukesh different in your film? Neil Nitin Mukesh plays the interesting character of One Shot Nandu in my film. One Shot Nandu has a different style of fighting and prefers to fight with patti on his eyes.
I did not know what kind of a fighter he is, when I offered him the role but I should tell you that the way he has handled his solo role in Lafangey Parindey is great. Did you know both Neil and Deepika before you started shooting with them for Lafangey Parindey? Frankly speaking, I did not know Neil and Deepika at all before I started shooting for the film with them.
It was actually Aditya Chopra, who suggested that I cast Deepika. I was doing an ad with her in Chennai then for a saree.
I went through rehearsals. They adopted the style and I started coping with that.
Since the language is restricted, I knew that I can't play around. I was conscious about it
(less)Lara Dutta bikini logic to make theaters HOUSEFULL??
Heard this?? Lara Dutta, the sizzling hot bollywood babe with a fabulous figure as shown in a two piece bikini in Sajid Khan?s upcoming mega- budget flick ?Housefull? opposite action specialist Akshay Kumar, has become philosophical and cites a solid BEACH logic behind her body show. It was during the Italian spell of the flick that Lara Dutta had a spark that if she was shooting the sequence on a beautiful beach then why not wearing a two piece bikini.
Of course, this noble thought came to Lara from all knowing and even more philosophical choreographer Farah Khan, who was doing the job for her brother -director Sajid Khan. The song has turned out beautifully with full potential of attracting the audiences towards theaters making the flick truly ?Housefull?.
And if Lara Dutta could have some bikini and beach logic, can other beauties Deepika Padukone and Jia Khan be far behind? Na jee na, they too instantly became convert to Lara-Farah?s philosophy of bikini-beach wear and shot in audience friendly costumes (read bikinis). After all Sajid Khan is making the flick to entertain the audiences and not to mollify some eccentric critic of the film, who in any case, would be able to see only negative things of the flick.
?Housefull? is a romantic comedy being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala with Akshay Kumar playing the lead opposite three bollywood beauties?Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone and Jiah Khan. Most of the portions have been shot in London and other exotic locations of the world and it has turned out to be a beautiful film.

(less)Deepika and Neil's mutual fan club
" When asked about her linkup with liquor baron Vijay Mallya's son, Deepika sighed, saying: "Can't I be seen with the people I'm working with without being linked to them? Not too many people know this. But Siddharth Mallaya actually runs the whole IPL (Indian Premier League) show for his father.
So it was natural for me to celebrate with him when our team won a match. Anyway, the IPL season is now over.
So I guess that rumour will end." Deepika is very happy about her roles so far.
" Housefull was a new experience. I had to do comedy.
Like Akshay Kumar, I chose to do a more subtle comedy in Housefull. For me being funny doesn't mean screaming and rolling my eyes.
Now I've three films that are about to be completed - Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se , Pradeep Sarkar's Lafange Parindey and Danish Aslam's Break Ke Baad . Let's see which comes next.

(less)Deepika gets a desi makeover
The actress is usually seen in in bikinis and short dresses, but since she plays freedom fighter Kalpana Dutta in the film set in pre-Independence India, she will be seen in Bengal cotton sarees. Neeta Lulla has designed her sarees for the Ashutosh Gowariker film.
Kalpana Dutta played a key role in the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. The film is based on the book Do And Die, written by Kalpana's daughter-in-law Manini Chatterjee.
Abhishek Bachchan is cast opposite Deepika. Abhishek plays Surya Sen .
The movie is being shot at Goa and Mumbai and is slated to release on December 3
(less)Goa has a new traffic cop, Abhishek Bachchan!
Abhishek Bachchan has gone a step further in his quest for realism. Playing a cop in the film Abhishek has been cruising the streets of Goa on his mo'bike looking every inch the Goan cop.
Says a source from the unit, ?Abhishek looks so much the local cop in dress, vehicle, manner and language that he's unrecognizable. Director Rohan Sippy has been able to shoot Abhishek's street sequences without the local Goan population being any wiser about his identity.
In fact during one sequence when Abhishek confronted a bunch of hooligans on the street the locals quickly dispersed thinking it was a real shoot-out between the cop and the criminals. " Abhishek has now taken his realistic get-up to another level.
On Tuesday he was on the roads riding around when at a traffic signal a family actually asked him for directions. Rather than get annoyed Abhishek, who knows every inch of the Goan topography by now since he shot two back-to-back films Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se and now Dum Maro Dum, quietly gave the Goan family directions to reach where they wanted.
Abhishek Bachchan confirms this incident. He has in fact blended so perfectly with the streets of Goa that there's absolutely no difference between the actual cops and Abhishek who's acting as one

(less)Abhishek mistaken for real cop
In fact, he has blended so well, that he has gone unrecognised in the outdoor sequences. Abhi's look gave his unit some amusing moments during the shoot.
In one sequence, Abhishek was supposed to confront a bunch of hooligans. The locals nearby thought it was a real confrontation and immediately backed away.

Over the last six months she has been shooting for Khelen Hum Jee Jaan Se, Lafange Parinde and now Break ke Baad. In the midst of all this, she was also promoting her film Housefull and other endorsements.
She has hardly spent time with her parents and has been missing them. She was missing them so much that they instantly decided they would go and visit her on the sets.
Incidentally, they have never been on her sets before this. This will be the first time.
” When contacted, Deepika Padukone said, “I have been working round the clock and I just thought that it would be nice if they can spend some time together with me after my shoot. The man behind films like "Lagaan", "Swades" and "Jodhaa Akbar", will be answering queries on the sites starting this Saturday, and will do so every subsequent Saturday. The time will be announced Friday.
The aim will be that even non-resident Indian fans are involved in the effort, said a source close to Gowariker. Gowariker chose to announce the initiative on India's 64th Independence Day Sunday.
" Hi everyone, this is Ashutosh Gowariker wishing you a great 63rd year of Independence! What better moment to tell you more about Surya Sen - the man who planned the Chittagong uprising of 1930 - the greatest revolutionary uprising against the British empire in India ’ s history," he posted on Twitter. He went on to describe freedom fighter Surya Sen, whose role is being essayed by Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan in the movie.
"As the leader of the Indian Republican Army, he commanded respect from other revolutionary compatriots and teenagers alike. A school teacher by profession, Surya Sen was an inspiration to his students, so much so that the moniker ‘ masterda ’ is attached to him to this day," he said.
"He instilled an uncompromising desire for freedom and antipathy to British rule among all those he recruited. His own commitment to the revolution was absolute.
He sacrificed his life, chose not to love or have a family so he could dedicate himself to the revolution," Gowariker added. The 46-year-old says he has been following the response to all updates on the official Twitter page of the film - KHJJS.

(less)I'll not stop for anything or anybody: Deepika Padukone
"I live life on my own terms. I have certain goals that I have set for myself, I want to achieve those goals and I expect a lot from myself.
I'm extremely ambitious and I will not stop for anything or anybody. I am a go-getter and I am very rarely satisfied with what I do," said Deepika.
The 24-year-old, who was at the Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM studio in the capital to promote her film Lafangey Parindey, says she may have achieved a lot of success in no time, but it motivates her to continue doing good work.
"It is still the beginning for me. I have just done around seven films.
So there is a lot more that I want to do, a lot more films, work with a lot of directors, give a lot of hit films and get hit songs to my credit which I can perform to later. I know I have come a long way from where I started, but still I have a lot to achieve," she said.
Deepika, the daughter of legendary badminton ace Prakash Padukone, stepped into showbiz as a model and started her movie career with Kannada movie Aishwarya in 2006, after which she made a dream debut in Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om . She followed up the success of her first film with Bachna Ae Haseeno, Love Aaj Kal and Housefull .
She is seen as a blind woman in her just released Lafangey Parindey. "But what the film is going to do for me professionally, I will have to see after it releases and stays in theatres for a while.

(less)Deepika bonds with Neil, denies link up with Mallya Jr.
Besides being a brilliant actor he's also a great technician. I see him turning director soon.
My other co-star Imran Khan in Break Ke Baad is great fun too.We shot in Delhi and bonded immediately.
? Speaking of Imran there was talk of Deepika deliberately working with Ranbir Kapoor's immediate rival after their break. The actress flares up.
?No one tells me what to do and what not to do. My personal life has nothing to do with my professional.
Imran is a wonderful co-star. I like working with actors who are fun yet professional, like Akshay, Imran, Neil and Abhishek Bachchan.
? Ask her about the linkup with Vijay Mallya's son and Deepika sighs, ?Can't I be seen with the people I'm working with without being linked to them? Not too many people know this. But Siddharth Mallaya actually runs the whole IPL show for his father.
So it was natural for me to celebrate with him when our team won a match. Anyway the IPL season is now over.
So I guess that rumour will end.? Deepika is very happy about her roles so far.
?Housefull was a new experience. I had to do comedy.
Like Akshay Kumar I chose to do a more subtle comedy in Housefull. For me being funny doesn't mean screaming and rolling my eyes.
Now I've three films that are about to be completed. Ashutosh Goawriker's Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se, Pradeep Sarkar's Lafange Parindey and Danish Aslam's Break Ke Baad.
Let's see which comes next.? Apparently Neil is so protective of Deepika that he gets tense every time she has to perform a stunt sequence.
?It's very sweet of him. But I insist on doing what I want to.
Neil does get tense.?
