In the limelight for her latest flick Bittoo Boss; Amita who'd debuted with the commercially disastrous Haal-e-dil, turned to production with Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge; and is now back to acting. So what's her plan? "I am not into planning things," she smiles, "After my debut; I did a cameo in Priyadarshan's Aakrosh, which got good reviews.

I believe in quality work, it's better to take up less projects than do films where you don't even get noticed. Acting is what I enjoy the most; more than even production.

So I am concentrating on that right now." Amita is soon going to debut in Punjabi films as well.

So is she an actor at heart? She says promptly, "Production is in my blood. But being an actor is what I always dreamt of.

I would often accompany my father to shoots," she shares, "And one of my early memories is of watching Madhuri di dealing with her frenzied fans. That's when I started dreaming of becoming an actor.

" Amita agrees having a producer daddy is definitely a big help saying, "I am fortunate enough to have been given my first break by my father. But the audience is the ultimate judge.

If you aren't a success, even your father won't invest money in you." She adds, "It wasn't easy to convince my father in the first place.

He warned me that it would be difficult and I was prepared for it." But looking at her career graph, her small stint with production was more successful than her acting career.

So why not stick to production then? "I never had thought of anything else as my career but acting," she says, adding, "When I came back to production, rumours were abuzz that I had left acting, but that was never the case." There were rumours of a rift with her co-star Pulkit Samrat on the issue of him hogging the limelight.

"They are just rumours," she says with a smile, "We are two different people who share a love-hate relationship. He loves to harass me and I hate to deal with his pranks at times.

But we did bond well during the shoot." (less)
