The Bachchans recently sent boxes of sweets to media announcing the birth of their granddaughter, who was born on November 16, 2011. Worth noticing was the fact that the card accompanying the box of sweets did not carry the baby's name. The card simply stated Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter. Earlier there were reports that Beti B was named Aaradhya Bachchan, which means 'one who is worth worshipping', in Sanskrit. Media reports also said that the name had been registered by Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan with the Bombay Municipal Corporation.
