I am in love with writing: Shreya Narayan
Or that's what Shreya Narayan would like us to believe. Shreya who won critical acclaim in her last screen outing (Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster) was in Vadodara to shoot her next film Palchhin.
She says with a sarcastic smile, "There have been occasions when the roles offered seemed pretty meaty at the time of auditions, but turned out to be blink-and-miss appearances after the films were edited and finally hit the screens! It has happened so many times that I am immune to the entire process." However, she adds, "I kept working hard and left the rest to God.
The only thing that I have learnt, being an outsider in this industry, is that perseverance always pays and one mustn't leave it midway while pursuing one's dreams. If you are at it whole-heartedly, things will happen.
" Did she expect Saheb , Biwi Aur Gangster would catapult her to fame? "I had a feeling that it would succeed at the box office, because Tigmanshu Dhulia is really good at his craft. But the critical acclaim came as a pleasant surprise.
" she admits. About her role in Palchhin, she shares, "I play a very simple, everyday girl with dreams.
It's a story about relationships and I believe this will be a huge leap for me as an actress. I haven't signed any other film as yet because I believe I have to go a step ahead with every film.
If that means waiting for the right projects, then so be it. Working with director Sudhanshu Shekhar Jha has been a pleasure, who is very precise with the story and knows how to make characters stand out.
" Interestingly, Shreya happens to be the great grand niece of Dr. Rajendra Prasad , the first President of independent India.
But she prefers not to talk much about it, saying, "My success has to be my own, and I don't want to use anyone's name. I have struggled a lot to reach where I am today.
But I am grateful to my ancestors for giving me this belief that it's possible to achieve anything if you dream." For someone born into a family of academicians, it couldn't have been easy to convince her family about pursuing a career in films.
Ask her that and she wittily quips, "May be, the scholarly background made them more tolerant towards me!" Shreya, who has done a lot of theatre, feels, "Theatre gives instant gratification as an actor, as you don't have to wait for months to know the reaction of the audiences. But then, films give you a chance to make history, isn't it?" So how is she off screen? "I am in love with writing and my only hobbies are reading and writing.
Both give me an emotional high." she signs off
(less)Shah Rukh, Katrina's 'leak' issues
..
Director Yash Chopra wants to keep the look of his actors and anything to do with the film a much guarded secret. Although mobile phones are not allowed on the sets of this one and every cast and crew member is quite thoroughly checked, the Chopras are paranoid about some on-the-set pictures being leaked out.
With all the Internet leaks that have happened in the recent past, the Chopras are trying their level best to protect any such incident. However, every viral leak has only led to more popularity of every movie - be it Dhanush's Kolaveri Di, or the more recent, Bhatt's Blood Money! It won't come as a surprise if Internet leaks are treated as marketing gimmicks.
However, Aditya Chopra and his team don't find this too amusing and are are going to do everything to avoid any such 'calamity'

. Apparently, the two actors found themselves on the same flight, and bonded well! We hear they requested that they be seated next to each other and jabbered away till the flight landed.
Since the two realised that they got along pretty well, they spoke about working together sometime! Apparently, Ranbir and Shahid are both good dancers and may seen making a world tour together. When we quizzed Shahid about it, he said, "Yes, it's true! We may participate in a world tour.
Nothing is official, nothing is on paper. We've just mentioned it to each other.
Of course, there'll be a lot of logistics to sort out, like our dates and the places where we are shooting. But I'd love to be a part of Ranbir's worl tour.

(less)'Only out-of-court settlement can save Saif'
The Colaba police said they had questioned 15 witnesses and were matching the statements with the claims made by Saif as well as South African businessman Iqbal Sharma with whom the actor had the fight. Saif also allegedly hit Sharma's father-in-law.
A hotel employee present at the restaurant during the brawl told the police that Khan was the first to punch Sharma and he did so unprovoked. This contradicts Saif's version of him acting in self-defence after being hit.
The police added the evidence compiled so far, including an application submitted by Saif through his lawyer, has tilted the case strongly in Sharma's favour. "Saif's application states that he hit Sharma in self-defence.
As he did not lodge a complaint, we took it as admission of his guilt. Even if the violence was provoked, Saif's party should have notified the police," said an officer .
But while speaking to TOI, Saif expressed dismay "at the way the incident was being played out". "It's sad that people believe that I raised hand on a senior citizen.
I wouldn't do it in a million years, it is against the basic fibre of my nature. I was the one who was hit first and abused and I reacted in self-defence.
I agree violence is not the answer and I apologize to my fans. I know celebrities need to set an example but not in a million years, will I raise hand on a senior citizen and what hurts most is that people believe it.
I didn't want to speak earlier as people would think I am trying to gain publicity for my film, Agent Vinod ," he said. "Let the court decide.
..
I didn't think of going to cops. Maybe, I was naive.
I am the one who was..
. sitting traumatized with a bit of a black eye.
The other chap was changing shirts and giving interviews; his nose didn't look fractured, I dare him to take off the bandage. People are questioning why was I given bail-it is a bailable offence.
What else did they want, blood? My past cases are being raked up. In the last eight years, I have not taken any wrong step.
When one is projected as a brat, it hurts. I have already said sorry and I should've handled it differently, unfortunately that did not happen," the actor said

Shruti, who made her Bollywood debut with Luck in 2009, and is also a singer, was apprehensive about undergoing the surgery for fear of it affecting her voice. Post-surgery, life has become a lot easier, she said, adding: "I am able to sleep peacefully and sing without any difficulty.
It is a minor procedure and I am greatly relieved." The 26-year-old, daughter of veteran actors Kamal Haasan and Sarika, will share more details of her nose-job on the show, to be aired Sunday.

(less)Saif Ali Khan provoked NRI man, punched him first: Eyewitness
Saif was arrested late on Wednesday evening based on a complaint filed against him by Mr Sharma, who claims that the actor assaulted him and fractured his nose at Taj Hotel's Wasabi restaurant in Colaba. The actor was released on bail the same day.
In a counter complaint he filed hours after being released, Saif insisted that he acted in self-defence as he was attacked first. He claimed that Mr Sharma's father-in-law punched him first and that the duo abused the women who were accompanying him at the restaurant.
He also alleged that his eye was swollen after he was hit. Sources in the Mumbai Police however told NDTV that the complaint filed by the actor does not stand as he has not backed his application with medical certificates.
Yesterday, the actor apologised for losing his cool and said,"..
.it is our responsibility that we always behave the right way.
So in one way, I would like to apologise about what happened and I think even this could have been handled in a different way. I get angry at things any normal person will get angry at.
But it should not be displayed in public." The police say no video cameras were installed in the area where the brawl took place at Wasabi.
They have so far recorded the statements of 15 people and prima facie, say sources, there is a "strong case" against the actor. When the incident happened at Wasabi on Tuesday night, Mr Sharma, a businessman from South Africa, was seated at the table next to Saif and his group.
The actor had other Bollywood friends with him - girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, Kareena's sister Karisma Kapoor, actor Amrita Arora, her husband, Shakeel Ladak, Amrita's sister Malaika Arora Khan, and Bilal Amrohi, a producer. In his version of events, Mr Sharma says he sent a note to Saif's table, asking his group to talk a little softer.
"They were making a lot of noise. And we asked the management to ask them to be quiet so that we could also enjoy our evening.
This failed on about three occasions at least." Mr Sharma says his family and he decided to leave the restaurant; on their way out, they ran into Saif who had left Wasabi and was on his way back in.
At this point, Mr Sharma says, Saif struck. The actor has, however, denied this.
Actor Salman Khan has stood up in his support. At an event in Mumbai today, he said, "I support Saif.
My family was there (Malaika Arora Khan is Salman's sister- in-law) ..
.I know what happened.
" Saif's home production, Agent Vinod , releases on March 23. It co-stars Kareena.

Nargis Fakhri: I was upset that I couldn't dub for myself
"I had no idea about either of them. For me, doing the film was more like an art project.
I just fell in love with the script the moment I heard it," says Nargis. The former model admits that making the switch from the ramp to the big screen wasn't easy either.
"It was very difficult initially; acting is a very intense job. It was difficult to adjust to the acting environment.
Moreover, I had to get used to being in a new environment without my friends or family. But I enjoyed it," she says, adding, "I remember spending 10 hours in the office , from Monday to Sunday, dubbing for my own scenes.
I did 5-10 scenes, but I don't know why they weren't taken. I was very upset that I didn't get to dub for myself.
" While Nargis is aware of the appreciation that has come her way for her role, her greatest admirer so far has been Ranbir. "He has seen how hard I worked on this project, and it's great if your co-star gives you credit," she says.
And though the actor is just one film old, she has already bagged three endorsements and kickstarted a brand war of sorts. Quiz her about snapping up deals for which actors Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were also under consideration, and she says, "I don't think I am taking over from anyone.
I have been doing ads for some time and this is not new to me." And if B-town buzz is to be believed, the newbie Nargis has been signed up to play the female villain in Rakesh Roshan's sequel to Krrish .

(less)Rockstar no-show leads to high drama
But hua kya? The "Rockstar" team, which included Imtiaz, Ranbir, Nargis Fakhri, Ranbir's trainer Pradeep, his bodyguard and several others, visited Lucknow on Friday to promote the film. According to the itinerary given to the mall management, the team was supposed to visit Phoenix Mall in the Alambagh area of the city twice on the same day - once in the morning for a short stage performance and a press conference, and then later in the evening at 8.
30 for the launch of a lounge in the mall. For this, the team had apparently been paid close to `10 lakh, which included 14 business class air tickets, 18 regular air tickets, rooms at a five-star hotel and `1.
25 lakh later, after they had arrived at the mall. Apparently, the producers, Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, had delegated the coordination of the team's promotional visits across the country to a company run by a lady named Roshan Ara, who in turn, gave it to a Delhi-based PR called Danny, who subleased it to two guys called Chaitanya and Dishant.
After the mall appearance, Imtiaz and Ranbir had planned to go and have kebab-paranthas at a famous shop in Lucknow. However, upon landing in Lucknow, they went to the parantha shop first, and then to the mall.
At the mall, they all said a few words, Ranbir distributed the "Sadda Haq" T-Shirts, and within five minutes, the team had left for the airport. The "Rockstar" team was to take a 6.
40pm flight to Delhi. Meanwhile, the mall's senior manager, marketing, Namrata Kapoor, followed the team right up to the airport and amid much drama and chasing around, threatened to prevent their departure from Lucknow if they did not refund the mall's `10 lakh.
She also lodged a formal complaint with the police, and bought air tickets to enter the waiting area and confront Imtiaz. By then, the police had also arrived.
Imtiaz then apparently intervened and sorted out the matter, promising to have all the money owed to the mall refunded. Finally, the team was able to leave for Delhi, after having delayed the flight.
All sorted out? At around midnight on Friday, Chaitanya spoke to us and told us that he had been "locked up" by the mall's management and they were harassing him and asking for a refund. "I'm going to die in half an hour," he said in a dramatic phone call to DT, adding, "Save me!" However, Priyank Tayal of Phoenix Mall told us, "We have not kept him 'locked up'.
We were told by Chaitanya that the team would visit the mall twice on the same day, but they did not. In fact, they only came for five minutes.
So, we asked for a refund. Chaitanya's partner, Dishant, told us that he's arranged for `5 lakh and then left the mall to get it, while Chaitanya stayed back.
We even met Imtiaz and Roshan, and they said they would ensure that all our money is refunded. We have sorted things out with everyone.
" Roshan also said, "It's Chaitanya who is at fault. He overcommitted to the mall management on our behalf; we knew nothing of it.
He took money from the mall in our name. But Imtiaz and I have promised the mall that we'll ensure they get their money back soon.
" By midnight, in fact, Chaitanya himself had changed his version, confirming that he was in fact having a comradely pizza with Tayal, and in a swift U-turn, claimed that he had earlier "lied" about being "locked up". What Imtiaz says When asked about the whole fiasco, Imtiaz, while boarding the flight to Delhi, told us, "It's very unfortunate that this has happened.
I, on behalf of the whole team, apologise, and will try and make up for it if I can. I will try and bring the team to Lucknow again after the movie has been released.
" He added, "We don't know who's responsible. When a film is made, so many people are involved.
If any one of them misrepresents us, I am not responsible. I feel bad for whatever has happened.
It's unfortunate and I hope that Lucknow's people will forgive us..
. I told our reps categorically that if it wasn't done within five minutes, I'd pay the money from my own account.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) had raised an objection to a 30-second scene in the film. Though the censor board had given a U-certificate to the film, IAF had given a conditional No Objection Certificate (NOC) as they wanted that 30-second sequence to be corrected.
Getting the NOC from IAF after correction was too late to send prints overseas, which compelled the makers to postpone release from Sep 16 to Sep 23. The actress, who made her debut in acting with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor, describes Mausam as her first true love story.
"I have never done a perfect love story. The film is about two people who want to be together.
Here both of them love each other. I have never done a love story where both of them love each other," said the actress who featured in films like Delhi-6 , I Hate Luv Storys , Aisha and Thank You .
Sonam, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, is confident she would sustain long in the industry. "I know that I am here to stay.
I work very hard and hopefully I would be here for a long time," said the 26-year-old. Tweet
(less)I’ve always had a crush on Bebo: Imran Khan
This young actor, who has been very successful in the rom-com space with I Hate Luv Storys (2010) and Mere Brother ki Dulhan (2011) hitting the bulls eye at the box office, is getting ready for yet another rom-com co-produced by Dharma Production and UTV Motion Pictures. Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, which is prescribed as the perfect date film, has Imran romancing Kareena Kapoor for the first time.
It has been directed by debutant Shakun Batra, who is very close to Imran and who actually indulged him by casting him opposite the girl of his dreams. Imran, who turns a shade of red even when you mention Kareena casually, says, "Kareena is perhaps the most beautiful actress that I have worked with.
And I've worked with some real beauties.'' Long before he even dreamt of being an actor, Imran had a huge crush on Bebo.
Says he, "I found her beautiful right from her first film Refugee. I couldn't articulate my feelings then, but perhaps I nursed a silent crush.
When we started working together, we got along really well. We had a rollicking time shooting for EMAET.
I observed her closely while we were working and even took her pictures without her knowledge. She sometimes looked so beautiful and ethereal that clicking her was a natural response.
" The EMAET promos have created a buzz amongst youngsters and the trade. Two of the songs - the title track and Aunty ji are also potential chart busters.
As Imran says, "With Bebo by my side, everything is working out just fine.'' Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu releases on February 10, 2012
(less)I want to become the No.1 star in Bollywood: Ranbir
In a candid chat with Madhureeta Mukherjee, Ranbir comes clean on his casanova image, talks about marriage, clears rumours of his tiffs with Priyanka and talks about dropping the 'Deepika' baggage. Read on.
..
Are you used to being referred to as a 'casanova'? I don't get used to it, I don't like it and I don't enjoy it. It's something that stuck to me since my first film, mostly because I dated an actress and was open about it.
Are you trying to change it? I don't try to change it. The day I settle down and get married, I will lose the tag.
Imran says that you're the best gossip source in Bollywood..
. I know all the gossip because I watch zoOm.
You're the real source. Ha, ha! With films like Singham and Bodyguard, the action genre has made a comeback.
You're still in the romantic zone..
..
I don't want to follow the herd. I believe some people are good at some things and hence, things work for them.
That doesn't mean that if south remakes are working, I'll jump on the bandwagon and sign one. Salman says that after the Khans, Imran and you can take over Bollywood.
..
It's great of him to say that, and I hope we don't disappoint him. You're working with Deepika again.
..
What are the dos and don'ts of working with an ex? There are no dos and don'ts. Yes, Deepika and I come with our baggage because of our relationship and how heavily it was reported, but I think it's our job as actors to work hard on our characters and make people forget about reality.
We're trying to make the film the love story of this generation. What about your reported cold war with Priyanka? There's no cold war.
Priyanka's a darling; I'm extremely fond of her. We need to be more focused on the sets (of Barfee), because we're playing serious characters, so we can't come across as back-slapping buddies.
Do you believe in the number game? I don't, but I do want my films to do well, and I do want to become the No 1 star in this industry

(less)Gautam Kurup hopes Thiruppangal to be turning point in his career
"Like the movie title, I am sure Thiruppangal would be a turning point in my acting career. It is an emotional thriller with interesting turning points," forty-year-old Gautam Kurup told IANS.
"It is a sort of homecoming for me as I was born here. I lived here for two years before my father moved to Bangalore," Kurup added.
Thiruppangal , also starring Andrea Jeremiah and Suvreen Chawla as female leads, will be released during Pongal in 2012. The film is being directed by Sharadha Ramanathan, who helmed Tamil period movie "Sringaram".
Vidyasagar scores the music and Madhu Ambat is the cinematographer. Kurup made his movie debut as the bi-sexual terrorist in the Malayalam movie Kandahar , in which Mohanlal played the lead role.
Speaking about his debut in Tamil movies, Delhi-based Kurup said that cinematographer Ambat had seen Kandahar and the director also found him to be fit for the sleek villain role in Thiruppangal . "(In Thiruppangal ) I am a cold blooded sleek gangster with a network involved in all kinds of illegal activities barring prostitution and drugs.
" Asked about his unique mannerisms to make an impact on the audience, he said: "There are punch lines and mannerisms to create fear. I am sure every member of audiences would love to hate me.
" Kurup said he had worked hard on his Tamil to avoid the typical Malayalee accent. Tweet
(less)Ranbir Kapoor's world tour is finally on
And, apparently, joining him on the tour is Shahid Kapoor, a surprising twist considering he turned down the offer last year. A source said, "Shahid received a call from the Moranis (the concert organisers) on Monday.
He is now in the process of working out the dates. Some of his dates in August are booked for a film, but it should be okay.
" Ranbir was supposed to go on his debut world tour last year with Bollywood hotties Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in tow. However the main attraction of his tour AR Rahman's songs for his movie Rockstar weren't ready at the time.
The source added, "AR Rahman's songs weren't ready, but that's just once of the reasons the world tour didn't happen. There were several other factors that lead to the cancellation, including the possibility of discord between Deepika and Katrina (his alleged former girlfriends) who were to accompany him on the tour.
Ranbir wanted his debut live concerts to be absolutely stress-free and perfect in every way. He is now ready to hit the road in August.

(less)Avantika goes gaga over Imran Khan
"Unke saath aayi hain. Avantika hain.
" But Avantika herself was blissfully unaware of all this and her surroundings, and sat on the front row for Karan Johar and Varun Bahl's show, chatting happily with the few who'd come with Karan, Katrina and Imran's entourage. But that was till Imran returned after walking the ramp.
She was already backstage, waiting. "You looked so good.
You did great," she told him, as she gave him a hug. "He looked very hot, na? Superb.
I loved Imran on the ramp," she told us and turned back to talk to Imran and Katrina. "You were patakha," she told Imran and turned to Kat, saying the same thing.
And once this was done with, and she 'happy smile'-posed with her hubby, she took out a few minutes to speak to us. So what's her dress sense like? "Whatever is comfortable," she finished the sentence.
"I know it is a very cliched answer, but it is very hard for someone of my body type to find the right kind of clothes. I am so tiny.
..
so curvy, and I hardly find ready-to-wear that fits right. But I like to have fun with what I wear.
I never go overboard - even for my wedding, I did not go for bling, that's not me." Talking of wedding, how's marriage treating her? "It's fun, I'm having a blast," said Avantika.
Any new discoveries about hubby? "There's nothing really new to discover, I've known him for too long a time for that, but marriage is a different level of things, and like I said, I am liking it. Having a blast," she laughed.
By this time, Imran joined us. How was it walking the ramp? He looked up, rolled his eyes, wriggled his eyebrows.
..
"You looked really good," someone complimented him. "Well, it was good.
See, everyone's telling me I looked good, that I did it well," said Imran. Has he done this before? "Two years ago, once.
" He looked quite confident on the ramp, but how was the feeling inside? "Nervous." Why? "Because it is not my area, not what I usually do.
It is very different from acting," he managed to say, before the couple were once again mobbed by people who wanted to get clicked with them
(less)Sonam is very special: Shahid Kapoor
But the suave, 30-year-old, who has enjoyed the burst of popularity with link-ups with most of his co-stars says, "Maybe because I never talk about my private life, never tell who I am in a relationship with. I love to enjoy the company of friends but have learnt to ignore these reports".
From ex-beau Kareena Kapoor , Vidya Balan to Priyanka Chopra with whom he shared Kaminey a film that shook up his critic, is also known for his ways with the ladies. And after eight years in the industry, the actor is teaming up with father Pankaj Kapur in his next Mausam alongside Sonam Kapoor.
A pet project, Shahid has been closely involved with all aspectsfrom production to marketing, but he confirms it was his "Dad who called the shots". "You don't improvise when Dad is around," he laughs.
Prod him about his father being a tough taskmaster and he says, "It was a great experience working with him. Dad was born in Ludhiana and he has fond memories of his young days.
It is the same setting that we have tried to recreate in the film, which is an epic love story, a film larger than life". As for the love letters, Shahid reveals it was one of the exercises the actors undertook.
" Apart from that cellphones are generally not used on the sets Reportedly, sharing screen space with Sonam was not an easy task. Rumours about work differences with co-star Sonam did the rounds while buzz has it that the actor also turned up late on the sets and threw a fit over the kissing scene.
"The film is bigger than this kind of news. I don't really want to comment on this.
Whatever is there, it is done very aesthetically and it is a classic romance, a family film," he contests. As for Sonam, the actor shares she is a very fun girl.
"We have gotten to know each other better over the one and a half year and have become good friends. She will always be special to me for sharing this film," gushes Shahid.
Hope it doesn't change with season? Up next, the actor will be seen in Kunal Kohli's untitled film, playing three different characters and he will be teamed up with Priyanka again. The actor refuses to comment on the film.
Meanwhile, he confirms he hasn't signed on the dotted line for Ekta Kapoor's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 , where he was set to play Chotta Rajan
(less)Is Imran a joru ka ghulam ?
Recently at the BT party, they walked in hand-in-hand and were spotted hanging out with Imran's buddy and director Punit Malhotra . When zoOm asked Punit to reveal a secret about Imran, he quickly told us, "Imran's scared of Avantika.
He does what she wants him to do." Well, we can't blame him.

With a lovely wife like her, we won't be surprised if Imran's the perfect joru ka ghulam!
(less)Chitrangada excited about first commercial film Desi Boyz
But then she vanished from the big screen for three years and returned with director Onir's film Sorry Bhai in 2008 followed by Mishra's another film Yeh Saali Zindagi this year. "What is different about commercial films is there are so many changes like there is so much of make-up, different hair styles, slow motion shots etc.
The exciting part was you glam-up for a role, you dance, you have those fantastic clothes, high heels and that whole girly thing," Chitrangada told PTI in an interview. "In the end a girl is a girl, we all love these things.
I had a great time doing all this," she said. Chitrangada is officially foraying into commercial cinema with Rohit Dhawan's Desi Boyz opposite Akshay Kumar.
"I don't think it is like a plan that I would do now do commercial films. I enjoy it and I hope I can carry it forward.
It's a good shift. Like I did off beat films for some time and now I will to do this for some time, she said.
Ask her about promotional strategies for both kind of cinema, Chitrangada, feels, commercial cinema brings in more recognition and connects with a larger audience. "Promotions are stronger for commercial films.
The numbers, the budget is high for marketing, there is a proper team. When there is a niche film you do it on that level.
It is a great and different experience," she said. Citing an example, Chitrangada said, "Like during one of our promotional tours, the kind of response that Akshay and John got was insane, incredible.
I was like surprised, got cold feet..
thousands of people jammed in a mall." Contrary to what you expect of Chitrangada, considering her on-screen image, she dons a glamorous look in yet-to-be released film Desi Boyz .
She has recreated the sexy and stylish college professor look for the movie. Since her character required her to look edgy, smart, stylish and yet mature, her stylist gave her fringes for her hairdo.
"I play Tanya Sharma, a professor at the Oxford University. Akshay's character Jerry and Tanya have a past.
When Tanya was a student, Jerry was her senior and she had a huge crush on him. He comes back to complete his studies while Tanya has rejoined the college as a professor.
Whenever Jerry is around, everything goes into slow motion," Chitrangada said. Desi Boyz , also starring John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, releases on November 25.
Now that she has ventured into commercial cinema, the actress would continue doing parallel cinema. "In terms of offbeat cinema if something exciting comes my way, which is challenging and a good role, with a good director like say Vishal Bhardwaj or somebody, I would love to do that again and go right back," she said.

(less)80% of my fans are female: Sonam Kapoor
People started noticing my clothes only a year ago Says Sonam, "I've been in the industry for two-and-a-half years. When "Saawariya" and "Delhi 6" came, people only spoke about how Indian I looked.
The memory of the audience is very short. They forgot about these two years, when all they spoke about was how Indian my looks were and how I was doing those 'Smita Patil' kind of roles.
But suddenly, with "Aisha" and "I Hate Luv Storys", they started identifying me with those characters. But that's also nice as it means I did my job well.
" I'm glad that 80% of my fans are female Despite the 'fashion icon' classification, Sonam claims she has no specific public image. Says she, "I don't think I have an image in the public space.
What I really like about myself in this space is that most of my fans are female. In fact, 80% of my fans are female and I like that because they like the fact that I'm a real girl.
They like that I dress up, and that I dress up for real girls. My dressing is aspirational, but I don't wear the 'tight-tight sort of clothes' that make me look like I'll steal your husband or boyfriend.
I like the fact that they like that I read, or that I speak in a certain way or that I'm not scared of people judging me. I speak my mind.
And I have women fans because of that. And that is one thing I will never change about myself.
" I only get flak from the men in the industry While Sonam says that women appreciate her for what she is, it is usually the men who give her flak for speaking her mind. She tells us, "My father has always brought me up like a son and he's more ambitious for me and my sister than he is for his son.
So I think giving us that freedom, giving us that strength..
. I have so much self respect for myself because of the way my dad has brought us up.
..
I always speak my mind and I have an opinion and I feel girls get inspired by it, they like it." But Sonam denies that it is something she has cultivated after coming to the industry, and tells us, "It is the way we have been brought up.
Yes, it gets me flaks from men (and uncles), but being so plainspoken has never worked against me because I've never done it with a bad intention..
. When you don't mean any harm, things don't come and bite you back.
So I'm not doing anything to mar someone's image or put someone down when I say something. I am just plainspoken.
I say it as it is. For example, I don't have a bad reputation, people don't talk about my affairs, or catfights because I have never had any fights with people and I never had affairs with my heroes.
So, there is no reason for people to talk about anything. Even though there are girls who are quite diplomatic about stuff like that, their image is far more tarnished than mine could be.
I am plainspoken and I say things in a certain way, but I also lead my life in a way that people can't question what I do or who I am. I feel like I have a responsibility because there are a lot of girls who do look up to me and who see me in the public eye and I am aspirational to them and I have a responsibility to behave in a certain way, to conduct my life in a certain way.
" I support any movement for the betterment of our country As someone who people look up to, Sonam says she realises how important it is for known faces to support public campaigns. And the actress is certainly supporting the wave against corruption.
Talking about Anna Hazare and the entire campaign, she says, "I do support any movement that is for the betterment of our country or one that causes a lot of people in the country to come together. A lot of people are saying that had become a catfight between various political parties.
But people shouldn't just get on with their lives like earlier. There should be some change that happens.
..
I am for every movement that is positive..
. who does it, who is part of it or who instigating, it is inspiring.
Any person who causes that change becomes a symbol." But as far as getting out on the street is concerned, Sonam says that that becomes particularly difficult, adding, "That is something that I don't think I will do.
I would love to, but a lot of attention is diverted from the cause when a celebrity comes to the ground. People were asking that " Mausam" was supposed to have its musical launch in London but we cancelled it because of the riots.
So, the news should be about the riots and not the launch. Similarly, while Anna Hazare's fast was on, the news should've been about Anna Hazare and not about Sonam Kapoor supporting him.
" I bought a Manjit Bawa with my first paycheck Since Sonam was in the city for an exhibition, we did question her about her fascination with art, and the aficionado told us, "I love art. With my first paycheck, I didn't buy any clothes.
I bought a Manjit Bawa. This was three years ago.
He was one of the best painters out there. I wish I could own more of his brilliant art.
Besides him, I love the Indian masters - Souza, Raza, and I love Jayshree Burman and Shakti Burman. I love sculptures and I love Paresh Maity's work very much.
I love collecting paintings and hopefully one day I will have my own collection." While she wants to own all the big masters, the Kapoor girl says she is already an investor, and tells us, "I've invested quite a bit in art.
In fact, property and art are the only two things I understand and I think those are very lucrative. Ever since I started working, I've been investing in art.
My mom and my maasi are really into art. My mom's a big collector, and she used to buy paintings 20-30 years ago and they are worth crazy amounts today.
When she'd bought those, they were worth very little. And it's not that I am ever going to sell my art.
It is for pleasure more than anything else." Tweet'; var stindex=100; var stp=150; var taglen=0; var tmp; var tagcheck = new Array("div","span","br","font","a"); if(storymetalinks==true) { var storydiv=document.

(less)Karan Johar to flash his nine gems
And Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu made as much as Rs 23 crore in the first weekend. And after the twin success of his two back-to-back releases, Karan Johar is all set to launch as many as nine new projects this year under his banner Dharma Productions.
Interestingly, the two successful Dharma releases this year have been direted by debutante filmmakers Karan Malhotra and Shakun Batra. Mumbai Mirror has learnt that KJo, will now launch a few more first timers.
When contacted, Karan Johar told Mumbai Mirror, "At Dharma, we have already introduced nine directors. We are extremely proud of their films.
Taking the train of thought further, we plan to expand our production base and launch many more first time filmmakers in the immediate future." And surely enough, KJo's plans for the year include a lot of fresh talent - in acting as well as filmmaking.
Firstly, in his maiden co-production with good friend Shah Rukh Khan, Student Of The Year, KJo is all set to direct three new actors - Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. The filmmaker will also launch Dharma talent Sonam Nair as a director this year.
For his co-production with Ekta Kapoor , KJo has roped in debutante director Akshay Roy. Ruchi Narain, who had earlier directed Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, is also being re-launched by KJo, this year.

(less)Aamir Khan bonds with Karan Johar
Imran Khan And as with most Bollywood bashes, the cops came knocking at Imran's Pali Hill residence at 3 am to ask the host to turn down the music. But it was the new best friends, Karan and Aamir, who pacified the law men and made sure that nothing dampened the spirit of the party.
With Aamir and Karan visibly bonding, the industry has been abuzz with speculation about the two collaborating professionally. The rumour doing the rounds is that Karan plans to cast Aamir in one of his forthcoming productions.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Karan was seen huddled in a serious, private conversation with Aamir, almost all evening. Karan and Aamir were so deep in discussion that they didn't realize it was 4 am, when they left.
In fact, the two along with Deepika were among the last guests to leave." Even though all eyes were on Karan and Aamir, what also garnered attention was the absence of many on the guest list - namely Ranbir Kapoor and Imran's leading ladies in Delly Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
Shernaz Tresurywallah and Poorna Jagannthan of Delhi Belly as well as Katrina Kaif of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan were all abroad for one reason or another. While the leading ladies of the two films being celebrated were not present, Imran's other female co-stars, Sonam and Deepika , attended the bash.
And of course Deepika didn't forget to bring along Mallya Jr

Though frequently seen together socially, neither Deepika nor Sidhartha had confirmed the relationship. "I'm hearing the funniest rumours about myself! In Thailand, and all I can say is I'm on the floor laughing, " Sonam posted on Twitter.
Sonam also used Twitter to deny reports of a spat with actor Shahid Kapoor and director Punit Malhotra. Incidentally, Sonam was reportedly dating the young director.
She played the lead in his debut film, I Hate Luv Storys . Apparently Sonam has now turned down a film by Malhotra because he has roped in Shahid, her Mausam co-star in the male lead.
"Okay morning guys I'm not mad at Shahid Kapoor or Punit Malhotra and I'm not dating anyone! I'm minding my own business and working," she posted. Tweet

(less)Karan Johar chooses his directors on instinct
In the recent past, Johar has given a platform to first-time directors like Ayan Mukherji for Wake Up Sid ; Rensil D'Silva for Kurbaan ; Tarun Mansukhani for Dostana ; Siddhartha Malhotra for We Are Family ; and Punit Malhotra for I Hate Luv Storys . His upcoming production, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is also directed by newcomer Shakun Batra, while Johar's co-production with Ekta Kapoor will see newcomer Akshay Roy wielding the megaphone.
"I think it's an instinct that I have. I have got it right some times and I have gone wrong with it at times but mostly, I have gone right with the directors I have worked with because they are solid human beings and that is what I look for," the 39-year-old said here at the success party of Agneepath , a remake of his father's 1990 film by the same name.
Karan also has a handy tip for all the directors who are trying to work their way to the top. "The only thing that I did in my first film and that I would tell every first director is that let your work speak for yourself.
I never gave a single interview till Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released because I had nothing to say." "Why should anyone hear me out when they had not seen the work that I had done," said Johar, who hit the jackpot with his debut film and continued his success story with his second film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham .
"Now Karan Malhotra is open to the world of media and I would like him to spread his wings and fly and today you can ask many things from him because you have seen his film," he added. Johar's last directorial venture was My Name Is Khan for which he won the Filmfare award for best director.
He is currently busy directing his next, Student of The Year. Tweet

(less)My dad is crazy: Sonam Kapoor
In fact, Sonam told Mumbai Mirror that she always thought Abhay was 'the most talented actor' and that they had stayed in touch even when 'he was in Spain shooting for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. "He said something weird about my dad.
I didn't like it. But to be honest, it's between my dad and Abhay," said the same actress who had earlier expressed her shock over Abhay's comments about Anil Kapoor .
The actress who clearly stays separate from her father's affairs also stated that being a star kid has not really helped her in her career. "My dad is crazy.
He thinks I am headstrong. But I always have this thing.
..
I have to do everything on my own," she added. But when it comes to dressing (and that is one thing she does really well), Sonam is totally dependent on her sister Rhea.
"My Players look is completely Rhea. I gave her a brief that I want to look sexy but not 'nanga'.
I am all covered up in the film and yet I look sexy. The entire credit goes to Rhea," said the actress.
While her style quotient has remained a constant, the roles she has played have been extremely diverse. From intense drama in her debut Saawariya to a rom-com I Hate Luv Storys and now the action packed Players, was the choice intentional? "No one has ever asked me this before," said a surprised Sonam and added, "I love the fact that directors feel I can do everything.
I'm glad to get all kind of roles. I get to wear Indian clothes as well as western.
It's exhilarating. I have multiple personality so I can play multiple genres.
And though I am not very intelligent, there is a little bit of thought that goes behind my choice of films."

(less)Shakira to dance for DLF's KP Singh?
According to sources, the Colombian singer, who became a household name post her 2010 FIFA World Cup official theme song Waka Waka , will perform at a private function at DLF Golf Course in Gurgaon next week. A source said, "She will perform as part of the week-long gala to celebrate the birthday of KP Singh, Chairman, DLF Group.
Shakira will be here on November 14. The celebrations will kick-off in Jaipur with a performance by Adnan Sami.
Singh will also release a book written by him at DLF Promenade Mall." The Latin-American sensation, who began writing songs at the age of eight and learnt English by studying the works of the likes of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Walt Whitman, has sold over 60 million albums so far.
Apart from writing songs, she has also collaborated with artistes such as Beyonce and Alejandro Sanz. Shakira's performance was the highlight of the 2009 concert that celebrated US President Barack Obama's inauguration.
Shakira's Waka Waka sold over two million singles and became the most popular World Cup song so far. The official video received more than 200 million hits on YouTube, thus becoming the fourth-most watched video of all times.
Her debut album, Magia , was released when she was only 13. Laundry Service (that featured the popular tracks Whenever Wherever and Underneath Your Clothes ) was her first album in English.
The singer is also known for her philanthropic work and has set up the Pies Descalzos (Barefoot) Foundation, which provides education and food to over 6,000 poor children in Colombia, Haiti and South Africa. "Every child has a talent to be developed and the potential to become a productive member of society," Shakira had said.

(less)I'm getting more time to promote Mausam: Sonam
It's absolutely fine if the release date got pushed by a week. We have worked very hard and we are waiting for the film to release for a long time.
Another seven days don't matter," Sonam told IANS. The directorial debut of eminent actor Pankaj Kapoor, Mausam features Sonam as a Kashmiri girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy, Shahid Kapoor.
Tweet
(less)I highly recommend marriage to everyone: Avantika Malik
. Avantika Malik and Imran Khan completed one year of marriage last week.
But there were no surprises for her. She's known her beau-turned-husband for 10 years.
They even lived together for a year in Los Angeles when he was training to be an actor. Soon after the wedding the young couple moved out of their family home, which is currently being renovated, and are living in a teenie (well, by their standards) apartment like any other working couple next door.
They don't even have a live-in maid. In her first-ever interview, Avantika talks about the highs and lows, getting along with her hubby's co-stars, and getting back to work.
Are you Avantika Malik, Avantika Khan or Avantika Malik Khan? I am Avantika Malik. One thing you discovered about Imran after marriage? Nothing.
I've known him for too long, so the only surprise was how easy marriage is if you meet the right person. I feel very blessed and lucky.
And I highly recommend marriage to everyone. Is Imran a better husband or boyfriend? He's a better husband, there's no doubt about it.
He's fantastic. He's the best person to live with because he is able to be with you and be supportive, but also gives you tremendous space.
He really looks after me, I have to give him that. Especially when we were moving into our own space and I was really nervous.
I have lived in my mom's house all my life, except for the year-and-a-half in LA as a student, so there were no responsibilities. I was nervous about whether I would be able to run a house, but he was very supportive of me, and in everything that I have chosen to do or not do.
Most actors have an entourage around them. Imran doesn't.
Is that him or you? I think it's both of us. But it's him first.
He's so regular. Our intimate group of friends are people who have been with us since school and college.
We have made many friends in the industry, but our core group remains the same. And we both like it that way.
He doesn't like to surround himself by people who constantly tell him how great he is, because that can make you lose touch with reality. I am so grateful he's that way.
We are a normal young couple, as normal as you can be with him being a movie star. Is it difficult being married to a movie star? He could have been a banker or a lawyer, it's just his work.
I am an ordinary girl in love with a boy who happens to be a movie star. It's very consuming work and it does take away from his life in a way while he is making a film, as it should be.
I don't think there is any other way to do it. I just feel like I fell in love with this boy 10 years ago, he was a 19-20 then, and though he's grown tremendously in many ways, his core being is still the same.
I will give him a lot of credit too, as when Jaane Tu..
. Ya Jaane Na was releasing, we were thinking about when we should get married because we had been together for so long.
And I remember my mother-in-law telling me, 'Wait for two years. Right now he's just started, you have to see what happens with fame and success and how you both handle it as a couple.
' I give Imran a lot of credit because he hasn't changed in any way. Except that he's more confident as he knows what he's achieved.
Is there any part of his career that you don't like? Just that I feel a lot of time he's just gone! But right now since you have no kids, you can travel and be with him, no? True, but I have a routine here, things that I like doing and I have an entire world of my own that I enjoy. So I would feel very inadequate if I gave that up and just left.
How do you deal with the highs and lows he goes through as an actor? The kind of person he is, he handles it with aplomb. His career started off on a major high and he saw tremendous success with Jaane Tu.
..
but he handled it beautifully. At no point did he lose his grounding.
For me, his lows were heartbreaking. I am very protective about him.
I see all the things that are so great about him that when someone else can't see them it bothers me. When people would write things about him that are untrue, or give him bad reviews, I would get very worked up.
In fact his mom and I were discussing this, when he was having a hard time, he was taking care of me not the other way around..
So now the negative stories don't upset me the way they used to in the beginning. Now he's had a successful year and I hope that they continue in life so there's a balance.
How is he on a Friday before release? He's calm, cool, collected, sleeping, and eating normally. And me? Not sleeping, not eating, really nervous, running up and down.
He is Zen! He's like now I have done the work. I have done my bit in the film and promoting it, so now jo hota hai dekhenge.
..
Lot of star wives get involved their husbands work like designing their clothes, or managing their dates or producing films etc, have you considered that? As far as being involved in his career, the extent of it is we have a discussion if it's a big decision which will affect everyone. But ultimately he's a decision maker, whether he should do a film or not do a film.
And I like to keep my life separate from his as much as possible. What about producing films? I have always wanted to produce films and I will do that.
But it won't necessarily mean it will be because of Imran or because he's in my film. I want to produce films, I am very clear, as I believe I have a keen understanding of films; I have produced films in the past.
And I feel like there were a lot of things that were happening there, corporate set up and things had to be done in a certain way. There were a lot of things I was keen on that didn't happen, but I feel like I developed a sense and feel for films.
Now it comes instinctively to me. You can't be married to someone who is deeply entrenched in films and not love it yourself.
I think that would be difficult. I want to produce films I am just waiting for the house to get ready.
My mom-in-law is working, Imran is working, so I am the only one who is overseeing the work right now, so I don't want to lose track. But by the end of the year, I would like to get back to work.
You reaction to his kissing and intimate scenes in films is..
..
(laughs) I can't remember the first time he had a kissing scene. In Jaane Tu.
..
there was one peck with Manjiri, and I was so worked up because then it was all too new for me and I was like how will things go, this that, but now I am fine. It's his work and I know him so well.
..
He told me it's not the most comfortable thing in the world, it's quite uncomfortable, there are 100 of people, retakes, so no matter what you might imagine, that it's exciting, it's very uncomfortable and it's part of his job. Which of his co-stars are you friends with? You won't believe this but I like all of them.
If you ask me who I am very friendly with then, it has to be Deepika and Sonam. Because we are almost the same age, and we were all a gang during I Hate Luv storys and Break Ke Baad, and we had a blast making those two films.
But I cannot tell you how wonderful all of them have been to me and am being very honest. Genelia, Deepika, Sonam, Katrina and Kareena they have all been really wonderful.
And everyone asks me, 'You don't feel insecure, upset that he's working with these gorgeous women because they are all so stunning.' And I give him credit, as I know how he's so faithful but also these girls have been really lovely to me and we should give them some credit some times.
Is Imran the perfectionist like his uncle Aamir? No. actually he's quite easy going.
Hes particular about his work and certain things. I know he's made jokes about these things, but how his things are lined up in the bathroom.
And he's very particular about these things. He's a very good boy.
But the human being that he is, they don't make men like him anymore, they just don't. And I keep telling him that for me the most important thing I love about him is that he's a good person.
I have seen him grow as an actor and I know he puts his everything into it and if you are honest to your work eventually you will achieve whatever you want. What do you guys fight about most? We don't really fight that much.
Considering I am a feisty person, I think he just knows how to handle me. (laughs) We fight about silly things like how much time he spends on the ipad or things like that.
But no major conflict. His most annoying habit? Ipad! Phone! Computer! I think he's addicted to the internet and he is Mr.
Know it all. Like if you ask him Imran how do you fix this? He will be like give me a second! And start typing.
He will Google everything, we should make him the brand ambassador of Google. Which film of Imran's is your favourite? It would be hard to pick between Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly because Jaane Tu he had this incredible boyish charm and looked so good.
In DB he was scruffy and with stubble..
I am caught between whether I like him more as the cute chocolate boy or huis grungy look. I love them both.
That's the best part of being married to an actor is that I come out of a theatre and have a crush on him all over again. It's an incredible feeling, after 10 years of togetherness to watch a film of his and find him so good looking and charming and sexy, and it's like falling in love all over again.
It has happened to me with most of his films. Can't conclude without asking any plans to start a family? Not for a while! When it happens organically, it will.
Is there any part of his career that you don't like? Just that I feel a lot of time he's just gone! Like if he is shooting for six months in Agra or Delhi, he's not here. For Mere Brother Ki Dulhan he was gone for three months straight.
I have a routine, my own life and I cannot possibly just leave to be with him for months wherever he goes..
. and that distance is something I don't like.
Now again he has to go for Vishal's (Bhardwaj) film..
But right now since you have no kids, you can travel and be with him, no? True, but I have a routine here, things that I like doing and I have an entire world of my own that I enjoy. So I would feel very inadequate if I gave that up and just left.

(less)Shahid Kapoor opts out of Punit's next
Maneesh got a slipped disc and now the film has been pushed to April. These dates were clashing with Puneet's film which couldn't be shifted.
Shahid had no option but to opt out of it. Since the film's producer Karan Johar and Shahid are keen to work with each other they decided to work on another film soon instead.
" Incidentally Sonam Kapoor also had opted out of the film last month citing date problems

(Read Luck and Kidnap) Imran is back to Dharma's staple with 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' in which he will be seen with Kareena Kapoor. On casting Imran, Karan Johar said, 'Imran is in-house, loyal, productive and energetic.
Its great to have him back, he is a promising actor." Karan has maintained his take on Imran from day one.
Imran reciprocated by stating, "It's wonderful to be back. I am pampered every time I work with Dharma, in fact I am taken for granted when I work with family but these guys are really great.

(less)Mallika shoots for KLPD despite ill-health
The actress who is currently shootingan extensive night schedule in Delhi for KLPD recently fell ill while on set. According to a source, "the movie is being shot in really tough conditions.
It's freezing cold here in Delhi and the rains haven't helped proceedings at all. We were shooting late in the night and Mallika started shivering due to the cold weather and eventually got fever.
The fever made her too weak and she was hence unable to shoot. It was only when the production arranged for a doctor at around4am in the morning to give Mallika some medication, could the shooting be resumed.
Despite weakness Mallika continued to film the sequences since the Delhi schedule needs to be wrapped up in specific time duration." Producer Amit Chandrra says that despite tough conditions, the film is turning out to be great, "These are things that we don't have control on, but Mallika shot despite being unwell which is great and talks a lot about her professionalism"

He used Kannada words and phrases like "Bengaluru Chennagidhe" (Bangalore is a beautiful city), "Oota Aayitha?" (Had your lunch?) and "Chennagidhdheera" (How are you, are you okay?).
The actor went down the memory lane, recalling the few days that he spent in Bangalore as a child. He said he had always had fond memories of the city.
Though he didn't speak much about the film, he entertained the public by grooving to the catchy tunes of its song "Chammak challo". Shah Rukh told journalists about the special appearance of Rajinikanth in the film.
He said Rajinikanth will play the role of Chitti - the same character that he played in the Shankar-directed Tamil film " Endhiran ". Shah Rukh also talked about the cameos by Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra .
"I wanted both Khalnayak and Desi Girl to be part of my film. That is why they are part of the film," he said.
There was a lot of frenzy among his fans when Shah Rukh threw the audio CD album at the Royal Meenakshi Mall at the Bannerghatta Road. The superstar, who plays a super hero in the mega-budget "RA.
One", presented mementoes to some of his fans during the promotional event for the movie, releasing this Diwali, Oct 26. Hundreds of starry-eyed fans cheered for the actor outside the mall, and waited for him with welcome banners.
Some even stood with vinyl banners of his film. Shah Rukh got on to the roof the car to greet his fans.
Some teenage fans kissed him after receiving mementoes from him. A few fans, who got special passes for the event, danced with Shah Rukh.
"RA.One" also features Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal
(less)Deepika opts out of Race 2 for Rajinikanth?
It was also earlier reported that Deepika was walking out of Race 2 because she was not happy with the film's constant change of schedule. Deepika Padukone to star against Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan According to a source, the reason Deepika had given for opting out -- that she was signing her first Hollywood film -- is not true.
The source reveals, "Deepika was already committed for Race 2 and had shot for it for a few days when she was offered a film opposite Rajinikanth. She was really keen to do the film but didn't have the dates for it.
As a result, she decided to opt out of Race 2 ." The source further adds, "Instead of telling the truth, her manager told the Race 2 producer that Deepika had a Hollywood film offer that she couldn't let go of and the dates were clashing with this film.
Though she was very apologetic about it, still it was very unprofessional of her to opt out of a film mid-way. Rameshji had let her go without creating any scene.
It was later found that the actress opted out for the Rajnikanth film and not for any Hollywood film." "Her manager Anirban said that she has bagged a big Hollywood film and it's a lifetime opportunity for her.
So, we had to let her go." Apparently the southern actress' departure has caused a lot of mess for the makers," said angry Taurani.
"We have to immediately look for her replacement and re-shoot her portions all over again. She has not only caused inconvenience to us but also to her co-stars (which includes Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt) who had allotted their dates for the shoot," said Taurani.
The producer adds that this has resulted in huge monetary losses for them as the building of sets for their next schedule is already underway and the crew and the location were already booked. A source close to Deepika however categorically denies that she opted out of Race 2 for Rajini's film.
The source points out, "The shooting was constantly getting pushed back. She shot for only two days for two hours each.
They have wasted her dates for December and January. She hasn't left Race 2 because of Rajinikanth's film.
The film was supposed to be completed before September 2011. We have documentary proof of that.
Now, there is a fresh requirement of dates as new actors like Sanjay Dutt have been roped in. She cannot give them blanket dates because of her prior commitments.
" Taurani says, "It's a highly unprofessional behaviour. In my entire career of 28 films, I have never faced such a situation.
It's not done!" Reports are that Taurani is going to lodge a complaint against Deepika with the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). Other actors who went the Deepika way : Chitrangada left Krissh because of prior commitments to Sudhir Mishra's untitled next with Arjun Rampal and Mehrunissa .
Imran opted out of Punit Malhotra's next for Vishal Bhardwaj's Maatru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola Vivek Oberoi left Shootout At Wadala for Bejoy Nambiar's David Kangana left Deepa Mehta's Midnight's Children for Double Dhamaal Ajay Devgn left Maatru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola for Son Of Sardar Tweet
(less)Sonam, Bipasha's new dostana
The four of them proceeded to shake a leg on some peppy numbers from their film. The co-stars were certainly enjoying each other's company.
Only time will tell if it's a new dostana or one, just meant for the camera!
(less)Piracy check for Bodyguard
This essentially means that in no way can anyone illegally copy the movie. And as far as physical piracy (pirated DVDs) is concerned, the movie's team is conducting across all known piracy hubs in the country, including Delhi's notorious Palika Bazaar.
The movie's producer Atul Agnihotri told DT, "We have found a few thousand jackets of the movie that have already been printed and realised that this can kill the prospect of a movie. Therefore, the step to nip piracy in the bud was imperative.
" Sanjay Tandon, VP, anti piracy at Reliance Entertainment, agreed with Agnihotri and told us, "We've taken a pre-emptive measure by getting this order. While we know of certain entities that do this, we do not know of many others who indulge in such acts.
This order ensures that whenever we catch someone, we don't have to get into the rigmarole of filing a civil case. We can simply seek punishment, which ranges between one week to three years of imprisonment, along with fine ranging between `50,000 and `2,00,000.
" Earlier too, Reliance had sought the same order during the release of the Ajay Devgn starrer "Singham", with a view to minimise losses through piracy. Says Tandon, "In the case of "Singham", it was pirated 40% less than it would have been, had we not taken the order.
For "Bodyguard", we are hoping to cut down piracy by 50-60%. Piracy cannot be eradicated, but it certainly can be curtailed.
For the same reason, we are conducting extensive raids across the country at known piracy hubs." The step taken by the producers of "Bodyguard" comes in the wake of the severe piracy that has impacted Bollywood in recent times.
Unofficial figures estimate the worth of the industry at `4,000 crore. To deal with it, last year, director Sajid Khan had announced that his movie "Housefull" was being released with an in-built anti-piracy software.
Anti-piracy raids were also conducted at the time of the release of "I Hate Luv Storys", since the movie lost `20 lakh to piracy in its opening weekend
(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Nargis Fakhri: I was upset that I couldn't dub for myself
"I am not doing this right now. At the moment I am just taking my time," she clarifies
(less)I’ve shown boys the middle finger: Sonam Kapoor
..
says actor Sonam Kapoor , in defence of the clip in her latest film that has been censored, which shows her giving someone the finger She can easily be described as the candid Kapoor, with her penchant for telling it like it is. In a chat with BT, Sonam talks about her Hollywood aspirations, reuniting with Abhay Deol onscreen and more.
We will see you in a different avatar in your upcoming film. Tell us what it was like playing this outspoken character.
Every character is a challenge and this was just fun. I am outspoken as a person and I just had to take how I am in real life and make it larger than life.
The script was so beautifully written that there wasn't much that I needed to do. In terms of styling, we padded the character a lot.
There was uproar over the middle-finger scene in the film, which has been blurred by the Censor Board. I think it is no big deal.
It is a part of our lingo and most youngsters do it these days. I have shown it to a lot of boys back home who tried to act smart (laughs) with me.
You said recently that you don't have a bikini body. How did that come about? Everybody just went on how hot I am and that I should wear a bikini.
Honestly, I was just being modest. I don't have Bipasha's body.
Will you don a bikini sometime soon, as it is the flavour of the season? I always do things that are not the flavour of the season. And that's why people like me.
Mausam, despite being a great story, did not do well at the box office. Were you disappointed? I am used to people loving what I do in a film, and the film itself not doing well.
I have three films that have done really, really well, so three out of six is not so bad and hopefully, my next film will even out the odds. After the success of I Hate Luv Storys, director Punit Malhotra has planned another film with you and Shahid in mind.
..
Yes, I heard about that, but I'm not doing Punit's film. Will you be reuniting with Abhay Deol soon onscreen? A couple of directors have offered us scripts for films that feature us together, but Raj Kumar Santoshi's is the best.
It's so much fun and I am dying to do this film. It's only Abhay and me talking throughout the film and it's brilliant.
There were differences between your father and Abhay Deol. Any comments? No comment, because it was between my father and Abhay.
How was your meeting with Tom Cruise ? He is so beautiful looking, very sweet and it was lovely interacting with someone who is so modest and down-to-earth. He looks you in the eye, and gives you that much attention.
Your father has already consolidated his position in Hollywood. Do you also have Hollywood aspirations? I have aspirations to conquer the world.
Let's see what happens. There must have been discussions about a Hollywood debut for you after your meeting with Tom.
..
It doesn't work like that. You audition for roles and you get them, just like in Bollywood.
Critics have taken digs at your father's cameo in Mission: Impossible 4..
. He always said it was a cameo.
My dad has been in the industry for 30 years. I don't think anybody has done the kind of roles he's done.
The exposure he's gotten in M:I4 is amazing. I think most critics are just jealous.
Who do you count as your friends in the industry? Asin. (pauses) And Jacqueline (Fernandez)
(less)KJo won't invite Priyanka for coffee?
Bollywood does have an incestuous nature; people are enemies one minute and friends the next. An insider tells us, "The filmmaker was waiting for Agneepath to release to severe ties with her.
Karan's loyalties are with his best friend Gauri Khan and he is unforgiving of Priyanka's reported closeness to Shah Rukh Khan ." So who will be on his talk show this season? Karan is shooting his film Student of the The Year in Kashmir currently and his wish list is still not ready.
However, a source, close to the channel on which this show airs, was overheard saying, "Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan , Sanjay Dutt , Imran Khan , Ranbir Kapoor , Kareena Kapoor , Deepika Padukone , Emraan Hashmi, Sonam Kapoor , Anil Kapoor , Ekta Kapoor are some of the A-listers who will definitely be on the couch for a 'tell-all'." Oh by the way, PC had appeared on this very same talk show with her then close friend Shahid Kapoor and the episode that had her blushing beetroot red, as she spoke of SRK in superlative terms, even went on to be labelled the most popular one.
Shahid looked very uncomfortable, but no one else was complaining then. However it now looks like PC may not take home another coffee hamper
