"If everything goes well, I will soon start working in a French flick. But there are things to be finalized before announcing it officially.

It's a French project and I will be seen playing an Indian role in it. And for that, I will soon start brushing up my French," says Ashmit who was in Jaipur recently.

His fans have been reading stories of his link-ups with his female co-actors, be it Sara Khan or Veena Malik. But Ashmit has a different take on it.

"There is a comfort level that you share with your co-actors. But if your co-actors are your close friends , your comfort level goes up.

So whenever I work with them, I connect more easily. And the media tries to interpret it in its own way," justifies the actor.

Ashmit is busy with his back-to-back shooting schedule, but there was a brief lull when he was away from the limelight. "I was offered tons of films.

But I always wanted to play safe and select some good roles rather than hopping from one set to another," he adds. Apart from two Hindi films, one television show and one French project, Ashmit is also working in a Punjabi flick which is slated to release by the end of the year.

the movie is in its post-production stage. What made him turn to regional cinema? "There should be no barrier when it comes to art.

Regional cinema has its own charm. It's still a virgin territory for me.

So when the offer came my way, I just grabbed it," says Ashmit. Ashmit will soon be seen opposite Sara Khan in Saawariya - Khatushyam Ji Ki Amargatha.

He says it's a different role from his earlier ones. "Yes, it's a family drama.

You will see me playing a responsible husband who deeply loves his family and believes in Indian culture and values. And the role is pretty much similar to my real life persona," signs off Ashmit (less)
