Tamil superstar Rajinikanth celebrated his birthday with family today, his wife Latha Rajinikanth has said. The Thalaivar turned 62 today. Latha Rajinikanth said it was special day after a rough patch. Earlier this year, the superstar was treated in Chennai and Singapore for kidney-related ailments. Rana, a historical drama featuring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone was shelved indefinitely after the health scare. Rajinikanth is bouncing back to normal, she said. On his birthday, Latha Rajinikanth said she always gives him a collection of gifts, like a child. She thanked fans who held pujas for the superstar's welfare, assuring them that he wants to enjoy this space and then bounce back. Latha Rajinikanth spoke of her two daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya, both of whom are doing well. Aishwarya is directing her first film with husband Dhanush and Shruti Haasan in the lead. The song Why This Kolaveri Di from the film has become a rage in India and many parts of the world. "As a singer I felt Dhanush's Kolaveri would make an impact," she said. Soundarya Ashwin will make the Thalaivar's next film, Kochadaiyaan , a 3D prequel to Rana. "Happy both Aishwarya and Soundarya are doing well," Latha Rajinikanth said. "Both children have an aptitude for creativity," she added. Tweet
