Taslima Nasreen | Ramgopal Varma | department SHARE AND DISCUSS Tweet Nathalia Kaur Ramgopal Varma talks about shooting an item number in 'Department' before starting to film his 26/11 movie from March 10, his love for Taslima Nasreen and why he feels there's more emotional honesty in a sexual desire than in love You literally started the trend of using item number with "Khallas" in "Company" and are shooting one again for " Department ". Why this gap for so long? I think, wisdom has finally dawned on me. Right now, I am back to shooting the quintessential item number. In the Bollywood times we are living in, what a face to a woman is what an item song to a film.
There was a film called "Teen Patti" and someone had asked me what I thought about the promos. I had said, I only remember the girl's back! The film, of course, wasn't made to show the girl's back but like it or not, that's all that I remember about it.
An item song is like the icing on the cake. Nobody buys a cake for the icing and but they enjoy it because of it.
Who is this new girl in "Department"? Her name is Nathalia Kaur. She is a Brazilian-Punjabi girl.
Frankly, I have not seen a girl in the last 10 years with more grace and expression along with an angel like body and a classically beautiful face than what Nathalia has. She is smoking hot in the 'Dan Dan' song in "Department" which I am shooting with her, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati.
'My Dan Dan' will do 'Khallas' to all item songs! "Department" is being shot in a format that no one has seen before in India. The camera angles are completely new for Indian cinema.
Having worked with Amitabh Bachchan in so many films, how challenging is it to reinvent him? What is the challenge for Sanjay Dutt? It is very easy to reinvent Amitabh Bachchan if you are clear with your vision. He is very sharp and can quickly interpret what you want him to do.
Sanjay has a larger than life persona and it's quite a task to create a character for him that's more down-to-earth. What's the status of your 26/7 film? The script is done.
Rommel Rodrigues, who wrote Kasab, The Face of 26/11, has written the script for the film though my movie isn't based on this book. I shall begin shooting on March 10.
This film is called "The Attacks On 26/11" and has to be elaborately shot. The event was complex and has to be shot in too many different places.
I am expecting it to stagger and work on it instead of finishing it in one go. I feel, 26/11 is the second most horrific act in the world.
The terrorists involved in this had more audacity than those involved in 9/11. The ambition of the people was far complex than that of others 9/11 though more people were killed in the twin tower attacks.
Is Riteish Deshmukh part of the cast? Of course, not. When I had visited the Taj, I had no intention of making this film.
It's strange for people to even think that I would be casting Riteish as a terrorist or a cop in this film. All those who are playing the terrorists are fresh faces.
The rest of the cast will be announced soon. Reports claim that you are directing the Hindi remake of "The Businessman".
..
That's what reports do. They claim.
I am actually producing the film and haven't decided on who will direct it. Your recent comment on the microblogging site, "Since a man has only one life, it is unfair and unjust to waste it on one woman", has Taslima Nasreen saying "2+ lacs idiots wasting time on you".
What's your take on this? I love all women and yes, even Taslima Nasreen. What exactly is your view of a woman? A woman for me is an incredible object of desire.
I don't feel desiring a woman is any less than loving her. In fact, I feel there's more emotional honesty in a sexual desire than in love.
Once can fake love but one can't fake a sexual desire. A sexual act should not be confused with sexual feeling.
The act could be common to everyone but a feeling is a function of the degree of its intensity in a particular individual. There's a difference between I want to have sex with a particular girl and how badly I want to have sex with her.
I want to sexually love a woman because for me, the very concept of a woman is about her sexuality. But the tragedy is that women want to be loved for every reason other than their sexuality.
So, this wisdom of mine is now forcing me to look for what I want in virtual women because they come completely edited and also come with a remote control. Recently, a Twitter co-founder has warned that spending hours on the site is unhealthy.
Will this information change your tweeting habit? Since tweeting is as good as sex, anything unhealthy will be the most desirable for most people
